Each of our yoga classes will work to tone and strengthen the entire body, while creating a sense of flexibility, ease and awareness.
Hatha Yoga
This discipline of yoga uses postures (asanas) and conscious breathing (pranayama) in concert with mental focus to develop awareness, strength and flexibility. Through proper alignment and body awareness Hatha Yoga will bring you balance, strength, relaxation, and a sense of well being.
Power Yoga
Based on Sun Salutations A and B, this class will challenge—yet encourage students to take their existing yoga practices to the next level. Incorporating warrior postures, standing and arm balances and inversions, this vigorous class builds physical endurance and stamina. Bring a towel and water, students should be prepared to sweat.
Vinyassa
This class starts from a place of breath awareness, and moves into progressive series of dynamic yoga postures that link the flow of breath to movement and strength building. Each class will work to tone and strengthen the entire body, while creating a sense of flexibility, ease and awareness in the practice. Each class will also include a more intense focus on one or two specific areas like neck and shoulders, heart or hip openers, hamstrings etc. Students are encouraged to practice wisely, find their own ‘intelligent edge” and honor the current condition of the body.
