Rejuvenate with one of our several yoga classes at Balance Gym Glover Park.
Each style focuses on a different concept or practice, emphasizing (for example) alignment of the body, coordination of the breath and movement, energy flow, or extended poses. Yoga is one of the world's most popular exercises, and is unique in its ability to bring benefits to all regardless of age or ailment.
Our yoga classes include:
- HATHA YOGA: This discipline of yoga uses postures (asanas) and conscious breathing (pranayama) in concert with mental focus to develop awareness, strength and flexibility. Through proper alignment and body awareness. Hatha Yoga will bring you balance, strength, relaxation and a sense of well being.
- POWER YOGA: Based on Sun Salutations A and B, this class will challenge yet encourage students to take their existing yoga practices to the next level. Incorporating warrior postures, standing and arm balances and inversions, this vigorous class builds physical endurance and stamina. Bring a towel and water, students should be prepared to sweat!
- IYENGAR-BASED YOGA: This 1.5 hour class focuses on the structural alignment of the physical body through the development of asanas. Through the practice of a system of asanas, it aims to unite the body, mind and spirit for health and well-being. This discipline is considered a powerful tool to relieve the stresses of modern-day life which in turn can help promote total physical and spiritual well-being.
- RESTORATIVE YOGA: Provides steps to access your serenity and balance within. The class begins with brief breathwork & centering and moves into postures, occasionally flowing. Great for quieting your thoughts, stretching and easing into your week ahead by centering yourself. All levels welcome. Each class, composed to meet the needs of various level students, is based in Kripalu style, heart-opening Anusara, Kundilini focused breathwork and Iyengar's attention to proper alignment.
