Preparation. Determination. Attention.

What are you training for?

At Balance, we believe that athletic and functional Training is for everyone, no matter what your goals are. Our clients are as diverse as their goals. We train weekend warriors, young mothers, CEOs, athletes, and other fitness enthusiasts. Our clients train with us because they are looking for something different and more challenging than the standard health club and more challenging than their standard routine, and for workouts that allow them to live their lives to the fullest.

Athletic Training

Our motto: "Train for Sport, Train for Life" says it all. Everyone wants the athletic look, but most train counter to how athletes train. Athletes focus on improving speed, power, coordination, functional strength, endurance, and stability. At Balance, we use the same techniques and equipment that college and professional athletes use: plyometrics, parachute runs, speed ladders, Olympic lifts and free weights. Athletic training will increase lean muscle, improve fluid and functional movement, help with fat loss, and develop anaerobic and aerobic conditioning. Additionally, athletic training prevents injury and improves flexibility and stability. The best thing about training like an athlete is that sessions are fun - we'll have you throwing medicine balls, jumping onto boxes, sprinting hills, and swinging kettle bells.

Check out some of the people that have trained at Balance:

Mark Crick, Adam Russell, John Van Der Geisen, Brian Olmes, USA Men's Rugby Team

Liz Dilley, USA Women's Rugby Team

Ainsley Stewart, Notre Dame Women's Lacrosse

Valerie Viehoff, Sydney Olympics Silver Medalist in Rowing

Functional Training

Two words: move better. Functional training (FT) has been popularized throughout the US by trainers like Juan Carlos Santana, John Blievernicht, Gray Cook, Gary Gray, and Michael Boyle. What is function? Function can be defined as the "normal or characteristic action of anything: a duty, utility, or purpose." Function is what works. Therefore, FT trains the body, or body area, for the movement for which it is intended. At Balance we will help you improve your functional movement, whether that means improved stability for skiing, a quick first step for basketball, or lifting your kids over your head.

Seniors

No matter what age, athletic and funtional training will help you improve your quality of life. Feel younger, look younger and return to an active lifestyle that is witout pain or limitations.

Youth Training

It doesn't matter if your child is the star of the team or just wants to participate, athletic training is fun and will give your child the confidence to be active now and later in life. We will help your child develop the athletic fundamentals to provide a foundation for a future athletic life.

Rehabilitation

Recovering from an injury can be a long and tedious process, mostly filled with misinformation and disappointment. Let a Balance trainer work with your doctor and physio-therapist to get you back on the playing field, or living actively without pain.
