March 15th, 2009 · 2 Comments

Date: July 31, 2009
Host: Bike to the Beach
Event: 120-mile ride from Washington, D.C. to Bethany Beach.
Cause: All proceeds will be donated to Autism Speaks.
Route: Hilly backroads to Annapolis and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. Short bus ride over the bridge. Farms and small towns. The end result, other than victorious elation, is a welcoming party on the Bethany Beach boardwalk.

Registration opens on April 1, 2009, then on April 3, 2009 Bike to the Beach will be hosting their 2009 kick-off party at Tommy Joe’s in Bethesda. You can register as a rider or volunteer. Or, just drop by for drink and food specials.

To prepare racers for the event, Balance will be setting up training rides from the gym. The dates will be determined after registration begins.

A little history. In 2009, they hope to raise even more funding for the estimated 1.5 million Americans affected by Autism.
